Normally we spend several years from launch of a product, to having any updates – this is what Vitus Audio is known for – and what is in our dna
There are obviously exceptions to the rule, and the RI-101 mk.II is just that! The RI-101 was introduced in 2018, so only 2 years after introduction
We now have the latest mk.II version – yes – this is 2 years earlier than “normal” and that in itself should already send a strong signal of the “why
The differences in short
The configuration of the output stage was optimized, allowing a higher current flow (a bit more kl.A if you will)
The digital power supply was updated to a new level, which allows for a much better headroom generally, especially on the DAC option
General board level layout optimization, which gives shorter signal path, higher “gauge” on tracks on supplies, and even grounding could be optimized
Transformer design optimized
