ביקורת מדהימה למגבר HEGEL H80 DAC במגזין האנגלי + HI FI
לינק לביקורת
HEGEL H80 זכה במוצר הנחשב והחשוב בעולם האודיו לשנת 2013 במגזין SoundStage
At the higher end is Hegel Music Systems’ new H80 integrated amplifier-DAC ($2000). I was introduced to the Norwegian company last fall, via their H300 integrated amplifier-DAC ($5500). I was so bowled over by its sound and flexibility that I wound up purchasing the brute. The H80 looks to offer a high proportion of the H300’s connectivity and sound but only about one-third the power: 75Wpc into 8 ohms, which should be enough for most loudspeakers in most rooms of average size, and for all but the deafest audiophiles. The H80 includes the same AKM digital chipset used in all of Hegel’s most recent digital products, including my H300 and their reference DAC, the HD25 ($2500). Inputs include pairs of optical and coaxial digital connections, asynchronous USB, and three analog: two RCA, one XLR. That a company with Hegel’s engineering prowess is able and willing to build a full-featured component at this price is commendable. The argument for buying separates looks less and less convincing.

When I first walked into Hegel Music Systems’ room, I thought their system was complex, but after a couple minutes I realized that they were statically showcasing a number of their components there, but making sound was a simple stereo comprised of their new H80 integrated amplifier-DAC ($2000) and a pair of Magico S1 speakers ($12,600 per pair). Feeding music files to the H80 was a MacBook Air laptop, and once again Nordost cables were chaining the components together.
The thing about the Hegel-Magico combo wasn’t only the simplicity, but the sound. By no small margin, this was the best-sounding stereo I’ve heard so far, even among the many separates-based ones I saw kicking around, which brings me to an interesting, final point: this simpler-system approach doesn’t have to be about creating something that’s more convenient and attractive in a room; done right, the result might be something that actually sounds better as well!

Low Noise, Superb sound from HEGEL
By John Atkinson • Posted: Oct 21, 2013
Bent Holter, founder of and designer for the Norwegian company Hegel, explained that his circuits are based on work he had done designing ultra–low-noise preamplifiers for the European CERN laboratory. Hegel's new H80 D/A integrated amplifier ($2000) replaces the H70, which was introduced in 2010, and uses the low-noise preamp circuit from the $5500 H300 amplifier and Hegel's patented feed-forward "Sound Engine" amplifier topology. It has two single-ended analog inputs, one balanced analog input, and five digital inputs, including USB. Though this doesn't operate in the usual asynchronous mode, it uses a proprietary reclocking topology said to eliminate jitter. The H80 offers 75Wpc into 8 ohms compared with the H70's 70W.
Hegel's HD25 DAC ($2500) uses a 32-bit AKM chip and offers even lower noise than the DAC used in the H80. In a series of level-matched comparisons between the H70 and H80 and the HD25, the H80 offers improved clarity and better low-frequency extension and control compared with the H70. While the best sound in the system, which featured Magico S1 speakers ($12,500/pair) and Nordost Red Dawn cables, with digital data sourced from a MacBook Air, was with the HD25's analog outputs feeding the H80, the H80 fed digital data sounded superb for $2000.
Perhaps the most exciting new product Hegel was showing at RMAF was the Super, a $399 portable USB D/A headphone amplifier. Machined from a single block of aluminum, this has a digital-domain volume control, but the circuit's noisefloor is so low that it is claimed to preserved resolution at lower volumes. The Super also has an extremely low output impedance so should be able to drive even the most demanding headphones with ease.

HEGEL H80 - High End Integrated Amplifier + High-End DAC
Fully Balanced
